PVP Addons
Warsong gulch Addons
I’ll be putting together a list of the popular addons to use and list the class in which they would be most helpful.
I’m getting a lot of traffic to this part of the page. Seems people ARE actually looking for PVP related addons. I’ll begin to list a few because I’ve tried most of them and the ones I didn’t try didn’t sound so interesting.
PVP addon list:
1. If you are not there yet and still going for the rank of Justicar (Alliance) or Conqueror (Horde) player title which only the most elite and veteran battleground players have achieved? This addon is for you. If you like Warsong Gulch, and you go through this long grind with the Silverwing Sentinels (Alliance) or Warsong Outriders (Horde) reputation to no end? Then you NEED the WarsongCountdown.
How it works
When a flag is successfully captured in Warsong Gulch, the addon calculates the remaining number of flag captures needed to get your reputation up to the next standing with your faction. A raid warning style message will be displayed each time your side captures a flag.
Example:
[WarsongCountdown] (sample message) 29 flags until Honored and 972 flags until Exalted!
“New features in v0.5 include an options panel to give you fine-grained control over how WarsongCountdown behaves, and a slash command to report on your flag progress to yourself or to others. Type /wc in game for more information!”

2. PvP Flag Broker
This addon is one I use a lot and love it. It’s actually quite useful, but makes an annoying sound, however, that’s probably me too stupid to know how to edit it in the settings.
What it does is provide a customizable GUI within your game which also gives you timer data of how long until the flag resets after it drops or how long before the flag resets so you have enough time to set yourself for the grab and or regrab.
Why do I need this?
In Warcraft 3.0, they gave us an internal PvP timer for players, However, this addon provides you with the ability to customize which the standard timer does not. This includes the ability to display the minutes and seconds remaining at all times instead of only the minutes remaining when more than 59 seconds remain. Also, the ability to be placed on the screen wherever your LDB display addon allows. The timer can also be hidden as well.
NOTE: this addon does not provide its own display. You will need to add an LDB display addon such as Fortress or Titan Panel.
You can download this Warsong Gulch Addonhere.
3. Deadly PVP mods
This addon requires you to also install Deadly Boss Mods
What does Deadly PVP Mods do?
It basically tells you when one of your team mates activate auras or when your opponent activates their specialties like immune talents or manashield etc and also lets you know when you can DPS them again by showing a timer.

Regular PVP Addons:
This is just a list of the addons out their for PVP in general.
1. KillStreak (PVPKillSound)
If you like Mortal Combat with sounds like “Killing spree” etc, then you will like this addon.
You will hear things like “double kill” or “Rampage”. There will be music played when fighting your opponent which can be adjusted.
Note: Your “Music” option in the “Sound” pane must be enabled.
Commands:
For in-game info about commands use the “/ks” command.
* /ks chat : “KILLING BLOW” chat message ON/OFF
* /ks death : Sound on death ON/OFF
* /ks gank : Cry on gank ON/OFF
* /ks gankmsg : Message on gank. The “[who]” variable (without the quotes) substitutes the names of players who ganked you.
* /ks music : Music in combat ON/OFF
* /ks num : Shows your current kill streak
* /ks emote : Emotes on killing blows ON/OFF
* /ks finish : “Finish him!” on 20% enemy health ON/OFF
* /ks record : Shows the maximum killing blows performed in a row without dying
* /ks screen : Messages on screen ON/OFF
* /ks scrnum : Kill streak on screen ON/OFF
* /ks sound : Sounds on killing blows ON/OFF
There are 2 versions because for some reason, sometimes one version doesn’t work while the other does. I’ll just link them both as PVP addon 1 and PVP addon 2.
2. PVP Helper
This is not something I need personally, but if you are one of those people that take their time in selecting the next item for your PVP gear, this addon will assist you in making that decision by referencing which item you “should” get next.
How it works?
Type /ph and you’ll get a message saying which gear you should purchase next and what is required for you to obtain it. It is current right through to Season 8.

3. SSPVP 3 addon
This addon is actually oretty cool and only just found it now while researching other PVP addons. It also can be used for arenas as well.
It tells you who has been slain, which faction has taken over resources, which faction grabbed the flags, when the flag has been return etc etc. Loads of useful things for all BG’s.
Download this PVP addon here.
4. PVP Trinket Tracker. I THINK this is really only an arena thing, but doesn’t sound like I’d use it anyway. Kinda dumb since other addons give you a timer on your trinket. The only difference here is that it tells you which trinket is best for the opponent you are facing at the time. When the CD is 15 seconds or less, it flashes and it turns green when the cooldown is running and grey when it is dead.

5. PVP Assist 2 (PVPassist2)
This addon is an all around addon and actually pretty good if you don’t want to end up installing 50 other addons as this one takes care of all battlegrounds for you.
It is only supported in English and French, so if you use another language game, it won’t work.
Some features include the ability to find other players and their locations. It tracks the time so you know how much is left to go and so on. For the full explanation, click here.
Download the PVP addon here.
6. FUbar PVPSnob
This is one of my FAVOURITE addons.
It has a bar located at the bottom of your screen. You can also move it to the top. Very thin bar that rests below your controls. When you use it in BG’s, it will show each players stats like honor kills, resilience, spec, average team resilience and so on so you at least have an idea if you are in a real n00b group or you stand a decent chance at winning.
For a hardcore PVPer like myself (over 250,000 HK’s), I really like this addon. Download this PVP addon here.
7. GridstatusPVP
I personally also use this addon. There’s not much info on it, but hwat it does it show you who in your party/team is within LOS (line of sight) so you can either assist, heal and or buff. It will be coloured depending on class if players are in LOS or grey if the players are too far.
Download this PVP addon here.
8. PVP Key Swap
I don’t use this, but apparently it works in battlegrounds and arenas.
Binds your tab key to target only enemy players in arena/battlegrounds and unbinds it when you exit the pvp zone. Not sure how useful this is since my tab key already targets only the opposing player?
Anyway, to download this PVP addon, click the link.
8. Broker PVP
I don’t really understand this addon, but what it does is that it’s actually a plugin for another addon called “Databroker Display”.
If this makes sense to you, then you can download this PVP addon here.
9. HandyNotes_OpenPVP
I personally have not used this addon, but it looks kind of interesting because it tracks on your map how many honorable kills and where they were made. This works in World PVP and I believe BG’s as well, but I still have to test it out. I didn’t see any notes referencing it.
Sample View
Download this PVP addon.
NOTE: You need HandyNotes for this addon. (HandyNotes is base addon allowing other addons add icons to your worldmap.)
10. PVP Spec addon
This addon warns you what PVP spec you have before you enter a battleground so you do not enter with the wrong dual spec. I figure preople would be smart enough to know, but there are those that change spec a lot and I can see where this could be helpful.
Commands
“/ps” or “/pvpspec” followed by a 1 or 2 for which spec you wish to use. For example “/ps 2″ will set your second spec as your pvp spec.

11. Irishblokes PVP Report Incoming
I just found this addon too and it looks like something I would actually use. What it is, is an addon which makes it easier for you to announce incoming or rather report incoming if your opponents are coming to attack.
How it works?
Simply select the incoming enemy player and click on the macro, hopefully other players will come to your aid. You will see a message like the following in the battleground chat channell; [playername] Says: INCOMING [class] ([location]),[playername], [playertitle]
eg. INCOMING Rogue (Stables), Cosmokramer, Grand Marshal
Dont spam the addon please, ive used this addon a lot and i tend to click it to report one player then i usually type in the BG chat channel; “GM 2 inc” or similar. If you spam the addon people will ignore you.
Download this PVP addon here.
Ok, that’s my comprehensive list. There’s a ton more addons, but I will make a central PVP portal and do it all in one shot with all the other PVP addons.
