Asystole, the Laughing Pally

For those of you that make emotes for the sake of wasting time, it’s stupid, plain and simple, but whatever floats your boat. Most of the time, you make yourself seem relatively stupid or ignorant at how PVP works and the game mechanics. Anyway, there’s a Horde Pally from Stormreaver server which is in the Cyclone/Wirbelsturm BG group that used an emote /laugh on me when I ran into a group of Horde in a WSG battle. Keep in mind that the Alliance flag runner was running th safety at this time and their FC was down the field. Yes, I was committing suicide by running into a group of about 6 Horde. I knew my survivabilty was good enough to keep them busy for about 45 sec to a minute which is just enough time for our FC to get far enough and also our guys to attack their FC.
When in WSG, you need to realize that you can get completely involved and lose all sense of where everything is. So, yes, you laughed, but you left your FC out to dry and you let ours get away….who’s laughing now. Smarten up and really think why someone is doing what they are doing and stop wasting your time making yourself look like a fool.
Huflungpu the Idiot Hunter
by steve on Oct.25, 2010, under Recent Blog Posts
Today, while “random” BGing, I dropped into a WSG game, YaY. There was a hunter in there with about 6.1k GS and while I know that GS means nothing compared to skill, it still tells me that, ok, he’s got ok gear..maybe not for PVP, but at least enough DPS to help take down healers and since he was a hunter, innately, he’s got decent kyting skills.
The other team (Horde) was actually pretty decently geared with a full wrath priest, so next to impossible to take down. They won of course, but at no help of this so called PVE hunter. Normally, I just say play on, but when the opponents Flag Carrier runs RIGHT BESIDE you….seriously..just about anyone would stop whom they are targetting and or cc that target and go for the FC..OR at the very least CC the FC so the others can catch up.
Today, I saw just that when a hunter “HUFLUNGPU” from Stormrage EU server who did ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING to stop the FC. It wasn’t as if the FC was on the other side of the map or out of LOS, but directly adjacent to. I msg’d him without making it public. I mean hey, I am gonna ask his reasoning before I start to bitch and tell him to play properly. Fair chance to explain himself if you will. His response; “just stfu”…. I fail to understand why you would BG with no care in the world about learning how to play properly? Then of course, he placed ignore, so I continued to make it public this time in /bg. His entire vocab was stfu. This is why PVP is dying, because of idiots like this. You try to get a decently played game going and you end up with morons like this. It actually ruins the game for the ones that want to win.
If you come across this hunter, tell him to smarten the hell up. stop wasting PVPers time.
Spammers, don’t bother

I know I haven’t been keeping up with updating this site, but I get spam all the time in the comments section.
ATT: ALL SPAMMERS
Your posts are prescreened and WILL NOT be shown at all. I personally review them. If I see a link to a non-WoW related site, I’ll just chuck it. If you made a good comment and have a link to at least a gamer related site, I’ll let it pass. If your link has no relevance, BUT your comment was good, I’ll also let it pass, however, if it’s to an Acai Berry or Pharma site, forget it. This is as flexible as I will be.
Focus on PVP and it’s all good.
Cap – Regrab Effect
by steve on May.26, 2010, under Recent Blog Posts
You’re in WSG and you are the FC (Flag Carrier). Some hide on the roof and some inside the flag room and people like me prefer to remain at the graveyard as it offers the best defence, especially to a more powerful opponent. There is one problem with this concept which is capping the flag.
In order to return the flag, the FC needs to run all the way to the flag room and cap. If the opposing side anticipates their doomed FC in time, then they may get a head start and be in the flag room for a regrab before you get there to return it. Unless you have good communication, which seems to be non-existent with PUGS, you need to be prepared for this or it just prolongs the game and makes it silly, since after a little while both FC’s get the weakness buff which makes the FC very slow and weak. Well, weak in the sense that you are essentially have your resilience wiped and are vulnerable to explosive attcks where you feel the full brunt of what’s coming towards you.
This photo display what I mean:
As you can see, I am running the flag into the room. I’m not sure why I changed form to travel form because with the weakness debuff (top right below buffs) creates a slowness effect which prohibits me from running any faster, no matter if I had travel form or speed boots. You can’t get out of it with a trinket, so trying to return the flag quick is not exactly an option. What I should have done was go into bear form, however, I had a ton of healers with me..unusual for BG’s haha.
Ultimately, the best way to go about this is to have 1 or 2 team mates run ahead of you into the flag room to make sure there is no regrab so I could return and cap flag for our side. The others will heal and should cc anyone coming close before you opponent CC’s (crowd controls) you.
In the image, I was ahead of the pack, but because I am slow, the others can catch up. This is why it is very important to think ahead, run past the opposing faction and prevent a potential blow out by losing the flag yourself while on transport to the flag room. This does happen quite frequently. Don’t forget to CC on the way..heal the FC and protect your flag at the same time.
Warcraft Account Scams!!! Be Alert!

People we don’t know and don’t care to know want to know us and want to know our account login information to cause problems for us. I’m just making this short post as an example of how people will go to any lengths to TRICK you into giving out your information.
Here is a screenshot I took. Read the lower left corner in the chat box of a msg that was sent to me. It gave the URL of a site and made it very believable…well DON’T BELIEVE!

Ok, that’s a little hard to read, but any larger, it would fill my screen.
Here is the link to the full image:
Yes, I know this image is from Arathi basin, but hey, I’m trying to warn as many people as possible!
The Undergeared
by steve on Apr.15, 2010, under Recent Blog Posts
I’m not one to complain too much. Sometimes you just end up with a team that has no chance and since WoW is really gear dependent, more often than not, you can tell if a game is a lost cause even before the gates open, however, I think the battleground could be made interesting and even turn out to be a win if certain tactics are accomplished by undergeared players.
I don’t want to pull the Gear Score card, but I am gonna do it. If you have a GS of under 4k and your opponent has over 5k GS…..why do you waste your time? You are going to lose, even if the other player doesn’t do anything for the first 30 seconds. Enough of trying to zerg because you can’t zerg if your gear sucks.
WHAT YOU CAN DO is CC (Crowd Control). Each and every one of us has CC capabilities. Most have normal2-4 types of CC which usually involve stuns, fears, rooting, silence etc. Then there are those like Warlocks that seem to have never-ending CC. Anyway, I digress. The object is to keep your teams Flag carrier safe and kill their teams flag carrier. What to do?
1. Slow down, stop and or silence their healers. Make sure the healers have been slowed so much that the flag carrier is so far down the field that there is no way to catch up.
2. CC anything that is headed in the direction of you flag carrier. This means NOT to wait until your opponent reaches your flag carrier, but to RUN up to (Mount or running) and CC. Keyword is anticipate. Keep your eye on the field. If a player starts to inch towards your FC, you know what to do.
3. CC is not the only thing you can do. Hunters, priests and locks can do some sort of mana drain. You need to do this to healers. If you try to attack head on with low gear, you will die and without your opponent losing much health if any at all. The best way is to attack and be quiet. Burn mana and it makes that player that much useless.
4. Priests and Shammy’s can debuff. DO THIS! Debuff ALL HOTS. We all bitch and complain about the IMBA resto druids. They are IMBA because no one debuffs their HOTS. You do this..doesn’t matter what gear you have, you WILL kill a resto druid.
What have you learned? If you don’t have the best gear, offside indirect assistance is the best! You will help your team immensely if you follow through with this!!!
Warsong Gulch – A World of Warcraft Battle Ground
by steve on Mar.09, 2010, under Recent Blog Posts
There are a lot of wiki’s out there that will give you the general overview of Warsong Gulch and how to win. Most really only offer the basic knowledge of how it’s played and maybe 2 or 3 possible strategies to use. This would be great if you can get yourself into a premade (premade team), but for the most part, it’s pugging y0ur way to honor. For some, this may take a lot longer than expected because of bad play on your team mates part. This website is here to go and take this further. I will be adding Battle Ground strategies/tactics and other PVP oriented information so you can pick up on how, even the smallest move, could change the course of the game. WSG as it’s called can change with only a few players doing the right things and I will cover them as well, I welcome all your input. If you have guides or want to send me tactics that you use, I would be glad to post it, but it needs to be unique text and written by you. No scraping from other sites. Please also submit your articles. It would be great back ground for other users.
